Flights to Varna Airport

The first plane, flying from Sofia and transporting packages and mail, landed at the Varna International Airport in 1919. A regular, permanent flight path was created between Varna and Sofia, some 28 years later in 1947.  In the present day, the Varna airport keeps expanding in order to accommodate and keep in step with the growing traffic demand which increases constantly due to the risen tourist and business interest in Bulgaria. In 2007, based on the reports from the traffic figures of the airport, it handled some 1, 493, 267 passengers and close to 15 000 aircraft movements. Currently there are tens of dozens of domestic and international flights departing to and arriving from over 76 destinations and over 34 airlines, among which are:
